Friday Afternoon Blues

I don't get Fridays. You wait all week for them to come along and then when they do, not only do they take ages to get going (mainly due to having to attend this thing called 'work') but round about now they just feel like the ultimate twilight zone. You're neither here nor there. Stuck in a limbo of unconcentration and impending joy.

Steph. Stephie, Stephmeister. It's been a long time since anyone blogged. Not sure why really. Maybe the novelty wore off.... but I'm here. Back with avengence to weave amusing yarns and delight with my wit and charisma. But lets start small, lets start with what I am doing this weekend....

Well tonight I am having a pampering session. All the usual culprits, leg shaving, facepacks, strange smelling foamy things. This is in preparation for tomorrow which is....DERBY DAY! Yay. That wonderful day of winning and losing (if we are going one on one off then I'm on my winning year), sun and rain (most likely both but the latter will undoubtedly prevail) and pimms and ice (together as always). If there is a horse called Steph or anything remotely related to your being or activities then I shall be the first at the bookies to place my £2 each way.

Then on Sunday Janine and her boys are coming up to London for the day. We'll probably go to the Natural History Museum and then a picnic in the park. Don't they have boats there too (lightbulb moment!).

That's the extent of my plans really. Fairly exciting on a scale of mundane to jubilant.

But now I must go for I hear the weekend beckoning to me from the hills (via a rather dark, rather sweaty tunnel underground).

Goodbye Steph. See you on the other side (of the weekend).

pamela and gareth's wedding

it was Pamela and Gareth's wedding on friday the 4th May. Stevie and I got up very early on friday and flew out to Belfast, met up with Simon Moss on the plane then made our way to the hotel for a disco nap and a beautifying session.

the weather was scorchio, we got a cab to the church - which was nestled way up high on a hill surrounded only by green fields and space.

The groom was looking lovely in his morning jacket, the bridesmaids has beautiful dresses and the bride was breath taking – she looked truly fantastic!

the ceremony went smoothly, with both bride or groom being very calm. after the ceremony they were wisked off to a romantic location for some pics in a gorgeous soft top Rolls.

the reception, dinner and party that followed was absolutely great and the band kept the place rocking until 1am!!!

sally and pauls wedding

sally and paul tied the knot in a very stylish ceremony and reception in london.

we decorated the church and reception venue on friday, then spent the rest of the day in the pub!

saturday arrived and the best men and I helped to get paul ready and to the church on time! the weather was really really good and the church ceremony was lovely.

as T already mentioned - we had loads of fun at the party....was too much for some :)

will upload some more pics when blogger is working better!

muchos love...hoping to book our flights to hong kong this week!

Hello Stephanoo (thats what the sign says by the way)

We miss you Stephanoo...
Here we are glamorously modelling aprons for you... just before heading off to Sally and Paul's wedding (where we all got very drunk, picked up cuts, bruises, blisters, ties and headaches for the next day).
Hope you are having lots of fun in Oz. Say hi to Tim for me.
Ciao bella,

to state the obvious, this is the bedroom. and our new bed. spot the furntiture i designed as part of my university placement at john lewis.

i like our bookcase... its colourful and books are lovely. i am currently reading a design management book... shortly to start bill bryson a short history of nearly everything and freakonomics (spot them on the third shelf up).

Roz's April Update

Busy busy has April been.... oh sorry, I momentarily turned into Yoda for a second then.

So here's a little update for you Steph of our adventurous April...
On the 3rd, Emily May was born.

How cute! Then it was April the 5th and I got given a lovely hat/scarf and panpipe combo upon which I began composing my first symphony...

Then, a week later, there was another hugely important and pivotal event that dramatically changed the mindset of many an unbeliever...Nat cooked! heehee (oh yes, and we celebrated our birthdays again - Sally kindly shared her birthday with us).

And it was lovely. We all left with full tummies. I accidently made you a cocktail...

It was tasty! I'll make it again for you when you get back. Then we made Sally do the Crystal Maze for her present (check out the 'dome').

In other news: Joe and I bought a BBQ, had a BBQ, got drunk, planted some plants and put up some shelves (not all in the same night).

That's me in a nutshell, although this week could turn out exciting cos our bed is finally arriving.

Roger out.

long time no blog

Ello my little (ex)littlebury lovelies.....will have to think of another descriptive adjective beginning with L beofre too long!´

am writing this whilst been cooked alive in the hottest internet cafe i´ve ever been in in my ENTIRE life! surely there is a point at which computers explode....???!

ah, the pics on your blogs are lovely! if you put rozzies to the left of T´s it looks like T & Bert are cowering in the face of a speeding-skiing-bullet (with very stylish goggles)

So, i am in Nazca in Peru at the moment. Got the night bus last night from Cusco on some crazy, twisty roads. so bad, that lynda spent the whole time vomiting all over the bus. Unfortunately, the main reason to come to nazca is to see the huge, weird, prehistoric shapes drawn in the sand. This involves a VERY bumpy flight in a VERY tiny cessna....which inevitably led to more vomiting from Lynda. have spent most of the last 12 hours carrying small bags of sick from one place to another!

aside from the sick transportation, have been having suuuuucccchhh an amazing time in south america. i can´t believe i have only 1 more week left! how did this happen??!

did the Inca trail last week which was fantastic. machu picchu has to be one of the most amazing sights ever.

second most amazing sight potentially occured on saturday during a slightly drunken night in cusco.....never seen an australian with a better demonstration of why going to the gym is a good idea ;)

what else have i been up to......have eaten a lot. i seem to be burning an immense amount of calories with all the exercise i´m doing and can´t seem to stop eating. so far i´ve eaten most of latin america and am having to move to a different continent to avoid detection. I´ve also been trekking and island hopping around lake titicaca....apart from the weird trip to the reed island that i told rozzie about, it was very cool! La Paz was really fun. was there with Lynda and two other guys we were travelling with at the time. really good night life and loads of atmosphere. it´s the highest city in the world, with some really crazy views of skyscrapers, next to shanty towns, next to craggy mountain tops. The weirdest thing was the number of shoe-shine boys around the city....there are literally hundreds of guys (wearing balaclavas to disguise their identity - apparently it´s thought of as a really lowly, shameful job) with little stools and a polish kit trying to persuade everyone to have their shoes cleaned. Most of the time i was there i was wearing either my suede hiking boots or flip flops....believe me, even feet in flip flops can be polished!!

Think my favourite thing of the last month has been the Bolivian salt flats. ended up finding 5 other people on the way to bolivia and hired a driver and jeep to take us around the south west for 4 days. it´s really like being on some crazy hallucinagenic drugs to see the landscape there.....saw red lakes with pink flamingos in them, with massive snowy volcanoes in the background.....gorgeous green and turquoise lakes that are so full of arsenic that you´d die if you tried to swim....salt flats where you can´t tell where the sky ends and the ground starts, like floating in a massive blue bubble....ah, you HAVE to all go there...it is definitely the craziest place ever.

heading to oz to meet up with Jen next weekend, so will be a complete change to be in sydney with familiar faces. i´m probably going to hook up with gerry again somewhere along the way too...think we´re going to hire a camper van and go for a bit of a road trip.

hope you´re all well......and that you haven´t dropped off halfway through this email....sorry it´s a long one!

miss u all loads!
lots and lots and lots of love,
s xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PS. Where are you natalie woozle?
PPS. How´s Steve´s business going sianie? bet it´s busy.......
PPPS. Did some birthday parcels arrive this week? i hope you like the wrapping sally, i think you should hire me at Chanel :)
PPPPS. love, love, love, love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fake Friday!

Afternoon Kitchen.

Having such an unproductive day today that I decide to just let it drag me under and spend some time on the blog. It's Thursday but we are on an offsite brainstorm tomorrow so it feels like Friday.

What's been going on then?

Well, me and Joe celebrated our 4th anniversary which was very lovely indeed. We went to the pub near our house and had a pizza. I actually heard Joe utter the words "too much cheese" which almost made me fall off my chair. I never thought I'd see the day.

We're finally going serious bed shopping at the weekend. I was telling the others about the main turning point in the find-a-bed-saga (apart from that fact that sleeping on a mattress on the floor was beginning to wear thin) was that Joe spotted a spider near the bed last week and freaked. I didn't actually witness the event but i suspect that the spider didn't live to climb up on the mattress! A fair sacrifice to get us off the floor I feel.

This week we have been round to T and Bert's new flat twice. It's really lovely and has very useful storage but I won't spoil the surprise by saying anymore, Steph. You'll have to go on a tour when you get back.

Last night I went to an event in the Clapham Grand. It was for a TV show and had some comedians, magicians and bands on. Unfortunately most of it was a bit rubbish. Bill Bailey was supposed to be there but wasn't and Joe missed the football. That was a bit of a let down.

So on that cracking anecdote I'll exit the kitchen. Tonight I shall mostly be eating bacon pasta and salad.

hello kitchen!

YEY! I finally managed to get into the kitchen... however I wasnt expecting to be able to log on and so I am slightly unprepared in that I do not have anything exciting to write just yet, hmm... so hang on and I'll be back with some news/ramblings before you know it!

Colder than an ice cube encased in ice in the middle of the night in a very cold place

Morning girls. It's 8:40 am and I am nestled in the log cabin typing a quick post before the days activities begin. We're not skiing today. We're taking a much needed day off. Yesterday when we arrived on the mountain it was minus 28 degrees and I can safely say I have never been so cold in my entire life. Luckily it warmed up to a balmy minus 21 by the afternoon but we decided a day off was in order anyway...

The skiing is going well. Me and Adam did our first black run yesterday. It scared the absolute shite out of me and if there had been anyway of turning back I surely would of. But we managed it and even went up for a second go (although my knees may not live to tell the tale).

The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking. I find myself wanting to take a picture every which way I turn. The log cabin is beautiful. You guys would absolutely love it here!

The snow drifts are humungous and there is nothing quite like flumping down into one (checking there's not anything hard underneath first). Possibly the best thing about ski clothes is there waterproofness. Very handy in such situations. I might start wearing them back in the UK -so practical!

Anyway, my eggy bread is calling so this is roz signing off.
Can't wait to see your photos Steph. Travel safe one and all.

Finally leaving Argentina...but i will try not to cry!

Rozzie, your lounge is huge! i only just managed to spot Joe !! I bet you{re in Canada now, so a teensy bit closer to me :) Though luckily, we still have the kitchen, which no amount of distance could ever transcend (yay!)

At this very moment i am in (an internet cafe in) Salta. It's in the North west of Argentina at the edge of the Andes - it{s really beautiful. Just came back from hiring a jeep for 2 days with a really cool german couple, who taught me some VERY bad things to say in German ('Fick deine mutter!!!) and an absolutely nuts french lady. Luckily managed to get my own room last night, as i think i may have strangled Josabelle (think she may have given a false name) in the night. She spent most of the time chatting away to herself in French and getting cross if anyone interrupted, though i don{t think even she knew what she was talking about!!

Heading north tomorrow to Humuaca, Iruya and then Bolivia on a much too early bus with a girl i met in Mendoza. I must have a thing for the Irish, cos she{s from Dublin too. At least i can continue using my 'top of the morning to ya' daily greeting and finish every sentence with 'for sure'!

so, other activities since my last entry.....went rafting in Bariloche...shopped for chocolate presents with a random argentinian doctor... got VERY drunk on a wine tasting tour in Mendoza and dribbled on the bus back... walked up the steepest hill in the world (almost) with an ex-professional footballer( and nearly died)... stayed in two of the best hostels ever in Bariloche and Mendoza - lots of hammocks in the garden and a pool... ate tonnes of ice-cream (despite previous salmonella trauma)... saw someone from PA in the street and hid instead of talking to them!.....swam in thermal pools and sat on a fake beach...got an ant infestation in my bag (it's like being back at 69!).....lots of fun things basically!!

right, hope all is well with all of you...keep writing with all your news! Am going to go find Lynda, eat some food, and probably fall asleep :)

love you all lots and lots

Photos...

This is the lounge (complete with Joe opening new clock)

Abandoned

So everyone at work has gone home and left me here alone....perfect time for a blog entry methinks.

Not much going on in the Land of Roz. Today I went to Body Pump at the gym and managed 30kg on the squat track. An all time personal best. Roll on skinny me! Mahalah and I have signed up for personal training too. It's cheap if you share a session and the guy who's doing it is the bizarrley cute one from circuit class (I can't explain it - maybe it's the extra endorphins from exercise - endorphin goggles if you will). You may not recognise me when you get back.

Joe and I bought a little car. It's a black Golf and it goes! Quite exciting to drive but not as exciting when being driven by Joe. I think he's part boy racer (of course he is, he's a boy!!).

Only one week to skiing. This time next week I'll be on a plane to Canada dreaming of my successful career as an Olympic ski jumper. I'll be the Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards of the Noughties. Flying through the air like a small albatross, riding the wind like a flying squirrel.... "Would you like the chicken or the beef madam?". Maybe not. Oh well, I'll settle at ice hockey champ or figure skating queen instead.

This weekend I am going back to lovely Reading for some birthday celebrations. My friend Sarah is very pregnant now and she looks great! We've got a sweepstake going and I've plumped for it being a 7lb girl born on April 1st (it's due on the 24th). I stand to win a modest £9 from this but it's the status I crave. "There goes Roz, baby predicter extrordinaire."

Finally, one question that I'm sure is on everyone's lips - is this Gerry bloke hot?

Heehee.

little dotted lines

Oooh, a car! Will you be painting a small polly on your new car i wonder? i bet Joe would love to impress the lads with a Golf-version of the Polly-car!

I will think of you all off out this evening. I{m 3 hours behind you guys, so at midnight, when you're all hitting the dancefloor, i'll probably be just getting off the bus in Bariloche. I'll do a little jig in the station in your honour!

So, my route so far has been:
South from Buenos Aires to Peurto Madryn & the Valdes Peninsula (halfway down argentina on the east coast)
Peurto Madryn to El Calafate and the Moreno Glacier (near the bottom of Argentina on the Chilean border)
Across to Peurto Natales & the Torres del Paine National Park (just across the Chilean border)
South to Punto Arenas
Further south to Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego (most southern point of South America)
All the above was on (very long) overnight bus journeys, so to save some time, got a flight back up North to Peurto Montt in Chile (halfway between the bottom of S.America and Santiago).

Been here for a couple of days - went across to Chiloe island with Gerry yesterday, which was cool. there{s some really pretty old towns there and a lovely port. was quite cold though! Gerry headed off to Oz last night, so am back on the road by myself. It{s quite weird, i{ve actually hardly spent any time at all on my own so far, so i still need to get used to it i think.

Bariloche is a bit of a backpacker mecca, so should be lots of fun to be had there. probably going to do some rafting and more trekking in the national park there. i{m going to be fitter than i{ve ever been in my life by the time i get back!!! Think i{ll stay there for 4-5 days before heading up to Mendoza in the north of Argentina.

Hope you all have a fantastic night tonight! lots of Fame-style moves from Miss Davis I hope!!!

lots and lots of love to all the lovely ladies of the kitchening scene!

dedicated to the ones I love....

.....that's you guys! happy valentines day!

it's so good to hear from you steph. for the less geographically minded of us, can you explain what part of s.america you are in now...bottom, middle or top should surfice. i want to be able to picture you as a little dotted line moving across that map like in films (if in a comedy, maybe the little dotted line gets lost and ends up circling a tree...who knows?).

as for the DIY and decorating list, we haven't got round to that one yet. still on the stupidly long (and quite boring) cleaning list. but gradually everything is becoming a bit more homely and i forgive the house for being dirty - it's not her fault really.

met the upstairs neighbours, they are lovely people. and like minded too so fingers crossed it should be very easy to get along with them.

me and joe are going to buy a car too, a little golf i think. i finally caved when i realised how annoying it is trying to shop for beds and things without being able to drive - all of the furniture shops are on retail parks away from the trains and/or the centre of london.

we're out for drinks and a boogie on saturday steph so we'll carry you with us in our rum and cokes, party shoes and bag of chips. can't wait to have you back but also, don't want to wish your time away so hopefully that then cancels the other out and we're left with normal time passing...?

brain scramble. back to work.

snowy fun!

Ooooo! sounds like lots of snowy fun has been going on (and some non-fun too, with the not-so-nice-slippery-ice!)

ah, i love reading the blog! i feel like i know exactly what´s going on & can picture you all going about your business :)) (extra big smiley face for sally!)

i bet your hair looks loooovely sally apple! same colour still? Has Paulo laft for NY yet? hope you had lots of fun still....

how was toy fair natalie woozle? hadn´t heard about 6 nations....but had heard about shilpa & big brother - apparently India requested an official apology??! craziness.

how´s Steve´s business going Sianie?? if he´s off to client meetings on horrendously snowy, nasty days he must be doing ok...? have you got used to signing James-Royle yet?

Hope your pasta was yummy Rozzie Muffins, that lovely Mr Thomas must be looking after you well at least. Are you all fully moved in then now? what´s on the DIY/decorating list?? can you give me a little, tiny taster of DH news?? i was looking the the tv guide here the other day....they have DH but with different actresses. was trying to work out from the picture who would play who, but only Lynette was obvious (looked harrassed and was wearing worse clothes than the others).

You´ll be home tomorrow i guess T bagsicles....hope the flight was ok. you´re everywhere at the moment....are they going to give you a rest after India & Hong Kong?? My Spanish is improving, i can communicate, but i think i sound a bit stupid. i so wish i´d finished the course now!! am going to try and keep learning when i get back....want to do a linguaphone home course together :) ?

I miss you all soooo much! take care and speak to u soon!!!!
love, love, love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Quiero una cerveza por favor!

Hola beautifuls!!
Am having such an amaaaazzzzing time! just got back from a 5 day trek in Torres del Paine national park. still travelling with Gerry (Irish guy) and between us had to carry all our food and camping equipment for the whole trek. am shocked i made it, but really proud too. enjoyed it so much, i wanted to start again as soon as i´d finished (except that my legs would probably have dropped off at that point!!)
It´s pretty cold here, have been wearing a vest, thermal top, 2 fleeces and a waterproof to walk in....was snowing 2 days ago.

Also did some ice hiking on the Perito Moreno glacier last week, was MASSIVE. looked like a really huge, interestingly shaped piece of polystyrene! T, you would have liked it - at the end hey gave everyone a glass of scotch whisky with a chunk of glacier ice in it! it´s a shame you weren´t there, mine went down about as well as it did in the Jamesons factory!!

Have been telling Gerry all about you guys (and showing pictures), he says he feels like he already knows you....if you get a strange, bearded fellow turning up that knows all about you, you´ll know who it is ,)

India sounds really cool T! you must be about the only person i´ve heard of not to come back with delhi belly! the Hong Kong offer sounds interesting....no ideas when they might be thinking of?

how´s everyone else? still happy and healthy? Feeling settled in new houses?? haven´t looked at the blog yet, will check there in case youév already told me all this :) ....will copy this message into the kitchen too, in case it´s easier...

ok, will sign off now. heading south to Ushuaia (most southern city) this evening. still travelling with Gerry, but meeting up with some others i met in Buenos Aires too, so should be fun :)

love you all lots and lots!
xxxxzxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just got told I look like an elf...

... Although i'm hoping she said elf and not ALF to be fair!?? Had all my hair cut off this week - 'tis very short, I quite like it although I have to keep looking like a toff and putting the collar up on my coat to keep my neck warm!

Apart from that, not much exciting stuff to report - Nat covered most things! The most excting thing to day is deciding where we should go for lunch?!

DH this week was awesome - Roz'll fill you in!

Am heading home for the weekend, so our poor little flat will be empty :( - yes, I have learn't to use smiley faces, although still don't totally approve!

Hope you're having lots of fun Stephi - just drop us a line when you get chance or send a smoke signal or something just so we know you are ok?!

Lots of love xxx

Hot soup for lunch today please!

This morning has been eventful:
woke up and it was snowing (although that was no supprise as the weather man had been predicting it for days!)
had to decide with Steve if he was going to try to make it up to York for a prospective client meeting, in the end we decided yes after a gorilla style research attack at 6:15am that involved the TV, Radio and shocking bad GNER rail website
wanted to go back to sleep but decided to get up an hour earlier anyway.. to do some extra work!!!
on the way to the docs had to navigate really slippery pavements infront of trafic jams, slipped more than once and at one point walked into a dageriously low overhead shrub! Quickly decided to get off the main road as Im sure people were using me as a source of incar-entertainment.
went to the docs about a cut i have on my lip, turned out not to be a cut but a bloody coldsore - really gutted and wholey blame my sister for spreading her deseases
on the way to the train station decided to get a tea and something yummy for breakfast, what a good idea untill I sliped yet again and spilled boiling hot tea over my left hand

So im only just onthe tain to work and feel battered and bruised already! Fun-oh-fun :)

I can't think of a title for this blog

Hey peeps,

So it's all a bit quiet on the Metaphorical kitchen front this week, I guess we are all extremely busy bunnies!! Not much really happening I'm afraid Steph, although we are starting to wonder where you've got too, we are missing you very much and hope that above all you are keeping safe and having lots of fun.

This week we've been to the Pizza Express Jazz club to watch Sally's cousin Tom Cawley play with a jazz group, he was awesome!!! On Tuesday I went to see Blood Diamond, a fantastic film and Leo Di Caprio is sooooooo hot, I don't know what he's been doing over the past year but it works for me!

Desperate Housewives was a corker last night, but I'll leave it to Rozzi to write about that in her journal, you would be proud of her she has written reams already.

Today we had snow again, serious snow this time, 12-15cm in some places, but alas not in London, most of it had disappeared by the afternoon, but it was very pretty this morning when I left the house and nearly ended up falling on my butt! I'm going home to IOW this weekend, got quite a lot of travelling coming up so I thought I'd better squeeze in a weekend at home. I'm planning a long run if I can stand the weather I really need to bump up my marathon training I only have 3 months left! And I'm hoping to watch the England Rugby match too, in case you haven't heard Steph, we won against Scotland in the 6 Nations last week, Johnny Wilkinson made an amazing comeback! This weekend we're playing Italy so a win should be on the cards unless we really screw it up.

O.K I'm off to Salsa now, got to keep 'the moves' going I haven't been for a while.

Send us some some new Miss Stephanie when you can.

Lots of love and hugs

Another week begineth...

Oh Monday Monday (ba bahhhh ba baba baa) so good to me
*YEAH RIGHT*

Not much to report for the weekend except that our local does the most amazing roast this side of Roastsville. I had a ribeye roast and it was delicious. The gravy... ay ay aieeee. Got slightly tipsy on wine and then fell asleep on the sofa. It was only 7:30 - oops. I'll put that one down to over excitement.

Keep thinking about you Steph and what your up to. I wonder if you are eating roast (???).

Anyway, the lovely (and handsome) Mr J Thomas has cooked me a fantastic looking dinner of pastaish goodness so I'd better go and enjoy. Ciao.

Bonjour mon amie!

Bonjour from the Alps!

Its just gone past 11 pm and i am trashed from too much apres ski! thought that it was important to document this moment hence ihave spent 30 minutes trying to remember the logon that i used to create this blog and thus now have sobered up a touch!

The conditions here for boardinghave not been great, only got a good anount of snow yesterday and that was my very first day on 'powder'. must say it was worth getting up at 7am and getting on the slopes by 8 in order to experience it before many other had the cance to 'carve it up'! We've been having great fun here this week - highlights include; using my new board - its' luch! the very boyish conversations over dinner, using the walki-talki's in an obscene manner, apres ski of van chaud and the list goes on. However its important for me to let you all know that im now officially a competant boarder which i am very proud of 'cos it is really f'ing hard - on this holiday i have been mostly tackling red and blue runs with a few spectacular falls - a face plant yesterday sticks quite plainly in my mind!

right off to drink some more, but thought it was important to share this moment with you all!!

muchos love to you all and hope that things are going well in BA lovely steph!

sxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ps. hope all home stuff is going good for everyone, hoping to have multiple dinner invitations when i get home!?!!???

:)

Let it snow!

Hey everyone,

So, this is my first time in the Metaphorical kitchen, it seems that we are all well on the way to owning our own kitchens, Hartfield Road, Tankerville Road, George Road, T's somewhere between Oval and Stockwell and Steph, right now the world is your kitchen, he he!

Not much really happened last week, in fact I spent more evenings at Littlebury Road then I did at the new place, but 69 has finally gone now, it felt very strange on Sunday see the place so empty, there was a dead ladybird on your bed Steph, I think that it got depressed when you left and committed suicide. I did go to see Apocalypto on Saturday with Luke, what a crazy film that is! I couldn't really tell you what the point of it was, but it was really violent in the first half and very gripping in the second half, interesting!

Yesterday a number of things happened, I went to Toy Fair again! (It's my fifth Toy Fair, I can't believe it!) I had my photo taken with a David Beckham lookalike, very funny and we woke up to snow as Sally mentioned, and it wasn't just a light dusting it was a full on thick coating, Luke managed to completely cover me in it as he scraped it off his car and didn't notice I was standing next to him, nice! Not sure if we'll see anymore in the next few days but it was nice while it lasted.

Steph, have you heard all the controversy about Jade and Shilpa in Big Brother? To cut a long story short, Jade, Danielle and Jo were branded racist bullies for constantly picking on Shilpa, Jade was evicted last Friday and her public image is pretty much trashed, she's been begging for forgiveness ever since and is apparently going on a trip to India to re-build some bridges, crazy hey!

I'm off to Nuremberg next week for International Toy Fair apparently it's going to be minus 5 so I'm preparing to freeze and eat lots of sausages.

Well that's about all the news from here for now. How was dinner with the crazy Irish guy the other night? It sounds like you've met some right characters already and a hot guy too, good work Steph!! Spanish going well? I met some of my Spanish licensees at Toy Fair yesterday it made me think of you, aaahh!

Missing you muchos, keep well and safe and hope to hear from you again soon.

Lots of love and hugs

Finally...

... Have managed to navigate the blog website! Am impressed you managed to figure that out in Spanish... I was struggling in English yesterday! Seem to have regained the ability to follow simple instructions this morning though! (I take that comment back if it doesn't work!)

Just decided that living further out is great - the extra 10 minutes commute a day has just paid off - got to be the first person up and making foot prints in the snow down our road this morning! Then was very disappointed when I got to work and realised there wasn't any in Bond street!... ah well, I guess I can go home and play in the slush this evening!

You'll be glad to know you're not missing much here Steph - the flat's nearly unpacked (ish) we do have a sofa now, so me and Nat don't have to take it in turns on the rocking chair anymore! We do however still look like 2 little old ladies eating out dinner off trays though!

You sound like you're having lots of fun though am very jealous of the shopping part (i'm so cultured)... Good luck with the Spanish lessons!

Take care of yourself

Lots of love xxx

The very real kitchen...

...at number 2 Tankerville Road is fully unpacked. We did that first as we figured food is the most essential pick me up when there is mess to be sorted and cleaning to be done.

Had our first slight house drama - the boiler turned itself off yesterday due to low pressure in the system (typical, the coldest day we've had for weeks) and according to the manual it needed re pressurising which seemed fairly straight forward and so I duly rose to the challenge (Joe being otherwise engaged helping Chris lug white goods around South London).

Unfortunately, I didn't quite rise high enough and ended up getting Joe's Dad and his mate round to help me. They were suitably impressed that I'd managed to get the cover off the boiler so it seems their DIY expectations for me are pretty low.

It's fixed now anyway and I have also learnt how to re pressurise heating systems which is a useful life skill I feel.

But generally the move went really well. We were very tired at the weekend but very happy. It feels like we're on holiday or having a sleepover - it hasn't quite sunk in yet. All I know is that it makes me grin alot and that's gotta be a good thing...

Blogging fun!

Hello!
This has been a very confusing first blog attempt - all the navigational stuff is in spanish....i will have to ask my new Spanish teacher to focus on cyber terminology tomorrow!

So, am having lots of fun in BA. Met some really nice people over the weekend, and a slightly crazy irish guy that fell asleep in his steak. Will hopefully be meeting up with one girl in Lima in a couple of months time - i think you would all like her a lot.

Seen quite a bit of Buenos Aires now, had fun in the marshy boats and done lots of wandering & taking in the sights. the shopping here is amazing, and so cheap. am kind of gutted it´s my last stop & not my first! Sally - you would love it, haivanas for 3 quid!

Unfortunately beer & wine is also mega cheap (2 quid for a LITRE AND A HALF of beer or a nice bottle of wine!) , so have had far too much to drink the last few days. Am paying for it now though....the cold that´s been threatening me for a while has finally appeared. I sounded like Mike Reid in my Spanish class today!!!

loads of people left today, so it´s just me & Crazy Irish this evening.....off for dinner now, so will speak to all in the kitchen again soon!
lots of love andthe biggest hug in the world to all of you!

Bye Bye Steph

We're waving.....

Sunday, 14 January 2007

tonight is the night....

... that we say good bye to our lovely little home as we have known it! Ah! The end of an era but what fun it has been, lets see some highlights....
- Beagles passing out in both house toilets in the same night
- Pibbers managing to fall through the garden furniture whilst attempting to wow the Radio 1 listeners with our glastonbury knowedge
- Trips to Infernos and blurred vision of Sally struggling to carrying bags of KFC home for a yummi feast
- Covering the house in headstones and autumn leaves for Halloween parties
- Shoes that are to-die-for stuffed in practically every corner of Stephs room
- Nats ability to fall asleep in any location...nightclub, pub or even in full conversation flow
- Abopting 'Micki' as the house mascot

So long, little house, we shall miss you.....

But onwards to future adventures that are yet to be had!! whatever will be next........

Introduction

Deep down in the bowels of number 69 Littlebury Road there is a magical and wonderous place. Sure, to the untrained eye it looks a little run down, with its chipped white laminate cupboard doors and it's distinctly wobbly lino flooring, but it is a place of dreams, of laughter and of general misbehaviour.

Sadly, that kitchen is no longer our hub but we have a new hub now - presenting The Metaphorical Kitchen. There's no stolen pub chairs to sit on or surplus Christmas chocolate to munch but no matter how many miles away any one of us might be, we can always be here.

Tea anyone?
